So you've been given the task of setting the wedding party table at the reception. What can you do to make it memorable? One of the latest trends is to use vintage China, dinnerware and glass. Not sure where this idea originated, but I love it. No doubt it was a awesome wedding planner, and who ever it was, I solute you!
Depending on the bride and her tastes they are buying up every thing from miss matched china pieces to full matching sets of vintage china, stoneware, and glass. Many of these items are being found in thrift stores every where. The brides are not forgetting to pick up serving sets as well, such as butter dishes, salt and pepper sets, gravy boats, platters, serving bowls and candle stick holders. When the party is over, the china is taken, cleaned up and presented to the bride and groom as a wedding present.
No matter how you set it, the tables are gourous, and it gives the wedding a special personal feel. If you don't have time to shop, you can always check with vintage shops in your area to see if they rent sets out. Many do, and its quite affordable.
If you can't find matching service pieces for the china you are using, don't be afraid to miss-match from another brand, type or pattern of china/dinner ware. As long as you are in the same color hues, it will work. And you can never go wrong with Milk or Clear Glass items. They go with everything. The Following would make great accents to the above Johann Haviland China or Corelle Dinnerware.

For the more laid back or rustic simplified wedding try using Corelle for the setting.
